Water is a strong and resilient matter. Either a fistful of anger punching into its body or an ice cold sharpened blade cutting through, causes it no damage. You put water into a cup, and it becomes the cup. It answers the world’s rigidness with patience and tenderness.
The passive rebellion of femininity in relation to external violence infiltrates many works. Ths ongoing series of work OCFSSWTCGTP are
dedicated to reveal this delicate feminine quality which exists in the liminal space among these eleven adjectives (Oyster, Creme, Foie Gras, Soft, Silky, Wet, Transparent, Cold, Glossy, Tender, Patience). It is something that language alone cannot precisely express. With the desire of communication and preservation of this quality, I experiments with various media such as sculpture, photography, digital sculpture, painting, and short stories to perceive the purest form of feminine revolt. Knowing that some things will always get lost in translation, she continues her attempts in Sisyphean optimism.
Looking at OCFSSWTCGTP series, Oyster appears as the protagonist in almost every single work. The rhythmic reappearance of oyster is symbolic in a way that I endow it with new meanings and transforms it from a species of creatures existing between the man-made definition of plants and animals into almost a post apocalyptic religious iconography. These artworks map out an alternative future where humans are absent, revealing the beginning of a new utopia in which oysters are the only survivors.
